Professional sales program
In response to growing demand for ready-to-hire graduates in the field of professional sales, the W. P. Carey Department of Marketing is committed to building a strong pipeline. Through relevant curriculum, student engagement, and corporate partnership, our Professional Sales Program prepares students to launch fulfilling careers in professional sales and make an impact in the business world.
Professional Sales curriculum
The Professional Sales Program is designed to shape passionate W. P. Carey business students into world-class sales talent. Students can add a professional sales concentration or certificate in professional sales to their business curriculum. In addition, sales internships and full-time positions are featured by members of our Professional Sales Corporate Board. Students may also be eligible to earn course credit for sales-related internships through MKT 484.
Student engagement
The Professional Sales Program offers students many opportunities to get involved through local and national sales competitions, as well as student clubs and organizations.
Each year, up to 15 students are selected for membership in Sales Scholars — an exclusive program for undergraduate students interested in professional sales, offering distinct opportunities to connect with the professional sales community. For Sales Scholars and other interested students university-wide, ProSales Club provides targeted professional development experiences and networking opportunities.
Corporate partnership
Through industry partnerships, the Department of Marketing is able to offer students exposure to leading businesses in the marketplace. Our corporate partners are committed to igniting passion for professional sales among our students, as well as helping ASU build one of the best university sales programs in the nation.
Members of top sales organizations serve on our Professional Sales Corporate Board, advise the department on sales curriculum and professional development for students, and provide financial support for program and student growth.
Corporate partners find value in connecting with our students, other industry partners, and the Department of Marketing faculty members who lead our Professional Sales Program — including the following individuals:
- Amy Ostrom — Interim Department Chair
- Detra Montoya — Faculty Director and Internship Coordinator
- Kim Ruggiero — Professional Sales Advisory Board Chair and Sales Faculty
