The W. P. Carey Department of Marketing created the certificate in professional sales for non-marketing business students who are interested in pursuing dynamic careers in professional sales. Through courses in professional sales and sales management, an optional sales internship, and engagement with corporate partners, you will discover the skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary to effectively manage and lead a sales team and organization.
Professional Sales Certificate Curriculum
The professional sales certificate is a critical part of the W. P. Carey Department of Marketing’s Professional Sales Program — which leverages sales curriculum, student engagement, and corporate partnerships to develop tomorrow’s leaders in professional sales. Coursework for the professional sales certificate covers topics such as marketing and business performance, professional sales and relationship management, sales management, negotiations, and more.

The W. P. Carey Department of Marketing established its Professional Sales Advisory Board to connect sales professionals to top undergraduate students in the W. P. Carey Professional Sales Program. Corporate partners help shape curriculum, participate in classroom and student organization activities, target W. P. Carey students for sales internships and full-time positions, lead sales-related workshops, sponsor student sales competitions, and more.
You will emerge with a valuable network of industry contacts, practical experience, and the tools to succeed as an account manager or sales leader in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer settings.
How to Enroll
The W. P. Carey certificate in professional sales is available to non-marketing undergraduate students enrolled in ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business. Interested students may review detailed course requirements, and complete an application to add this certificate to their academic program. Coursework is offered in person on ASU’s Tempe campus, as well as online.
While non-business majors at ASU are not eligible for this program, the W. P. Carey School welcomes you to instead consider our certificate in sales and marketing essentials.
