Prior to joining W. P. Carey, Ian’s career focused on global public affairs and market analysis/intelligence for companies operating in China and Mexico. Most recently, Ian led the policy and U.S. government affairs teams at the American Chamber of Commerce in China. In this role, he consulted American businesses on the latest investment, trade, and cybersecurity policy developments and developed strategies to engage both U.S. and Chinese governments. Prior to that, Ian worked at a number of organizations in U.S. - Mexico and Arizona on border security, immigration and supply chain efficiencies.
Ian completed his Bachelor’s degrees in History and Political Science at ASU, earned a Master’s of International Relations from Peking University and has an MBA from ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business. Ian speaks both Mandarin Chinese and Spanish fluently.
