Strategic partnerships

General Collaboration Agreements between Arizona State University and universities around the world allow us to collaborate in meaningful, innovative, and sustainable ways. Under the umbrella of these university-wide agreements, partner programs are developed for providing students with exciting new opportunities and perspectives; faculty and researchers deepen their understanding through information exchanges; and schools, colleges, and institutes engage with each other to build lasting pathways to greater understanding.

Building on the foundations of General Collaboration Agreements, the W. P. Carey School of Business works with its leading international partner universities to offer International Academic Partnership Programs, previously known as IADP agreements.

International Academic Partnerships are created in a variety of formats through collaborative degree programs, including dual-degree and accelerated master's programs that combine time at a student's home university with time at ASU. Eligible students are empowered to earn two degrees, one from each institution.

There are a number of master’s degrees within the W. P. Carey School of Business approved for International Academic Partnerships, providing a new generation of global leaders unique opportunities to learn the latest innovation in business disciplines and develop a professional network at one of the most engaged, vibrant universities in America.

General Collaboration Agreements and International Academic Partnerships are approved by ASU’s General Council, facilitated by the Office of Global Academic Initiatives and ASU deans, and finalized by the signature of the ASU provost.

Study abroad programs

Michele Pfund

"These aren’t just trips; they’re hands-on learning experiences. When students stand in the field with a coffee grower in Costa Rica or visit the Olympic Games to study global marketing, they’re engaging with international business in ways that bring classroom lessons to life."

Michele Pfund, Senior Associate Dean of Education

See the world and develop a stronger global mindset. Because of the increasing demand for leaders with broader international perspectives, the W. P. Carey School of Business is proud to offer many study abroad programs to our undergraduate and graduate students. From short, high-impact programs to global immersions and hybrid consulting projects, these opportunities are accessible to all students regardless of background or schedule.

Study in locations all over the world, discovering new cultures and new ways of thinking. By blending cultural exploration with business insights through hands-on learning, students connect with global industry leaders and gain perspective on how overseas businesses operate. These programs strengthen adaptability, communication skills, and cultural awareness — all characteristics which international employers seek.
