Biography

Dr. Garverick joined the School of Accountancy from Georgia State University where he just received his Doctorate in the Spring of 2014.  His dissertation was titled "Motives and Barriers to Cloud ERP Selection for SMEs: A Survey of Value Added Resellers Perspectives".  Mike received his BS in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University where he also played varsity football and was a 3 time Academic All-American.  He has extensive work experience, initially as a financial analyst and consultant at Mellon Bank, and for the past 15+ years as a business owner providing sales and consulting services on ERP/accounting software, databases and systems development/design projects.  Mike is a CPA and won a Elijah Watt Sells Award for his performance on the CPA exam.  He was previously a teaching assistant at Arizona State University.  He has also taught undergraduate and graduate level Cost and Managerial Accounting courses at ASU West and developed and taught a graduate level Database Systems course at the University of Tennessee and the University of San Diego.

Research Interests

Engaged Scholarship opportunities in the areas of Cloud ERP, Lean Accounting, Health Care Cost Accounting, ABC/ABM, and Decision Making
