Biography

ASU is a Tier 1 research university and W. P. Carey is proud of its strong tradition of teaching and classroom excellence. ASU's students directly benefit from the research and theories our faculty brings into the classroom. Faculty Associate John Pierce teaches MKT 494 and MKT 421 - Fan Behavior and Sports Mktg, which focuses on what it means to be a consumer in a sports marketing context society and what, as a marketer, one needs to know to develop, evaluate and implement effective marketing strategies for fans.

He has more than 25 years of experience building major consumer brands, as chief marketing officer for the Arizona Coyotes (2014-2016), managing director of marketing and USOC productions for the U.S. Olympics Committee (2006-2014) and director of marketing and creative content for Walt Disney Company (2000-2006). He is presently a partner in Player 2 Studios, an esports-focused sponsorship and marketing studio that connects brands with teams, publishers, and events.
