Biography

Sang Pil Han is an assistant professor of information systems in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He came to ASU in 2015 from the City University of Hong Kong's College of Business. His research analyzes the economic consequences of the mobile technologies on markets. He is an expert in quantifying the economic value from content in spaces mediated by social media; modeling consumer behavior in mobile media based social networks; and measuring the welfare impact of the mobile Internet. He has worked on mobile social networks, mobile commerce, sponsored search and display advertising, and online markets. He frequently works with and consults for leading firms in the mobile technology and telecommunications. His research interests include economics of mobile technology, social media and Web 2.0, and ecommerce. His papers have been published or accepted in leading journals that include Management Science, Management Information Systems Quarterly (MISQ), Information Systems Research (ISR), among others. He has received grants from the Marketing Science Institute and Wharton Interactive Media Initiative, the NET Institute, the Wharton Customer Analytics Initiative, the Korea Research Foundation, and the Hong Kong General Research Fund.
