Research centers and labs
Center for AI and Data Analytics (AIDA) for Business and Society
Sometimes referred to as the Mindful AI Center, the Center for AI and Data Analytics (AIDA) for Business and Society operates at the intersection of business, AI, and data analytics to develop ethical AI principles and data analytics tools that tackle real-world business and societal challenges. Three applied research labs are affiliated with this center.
Actionable Analytics Lab
Within AIDA, the Actionable Analytics Lab provides rigorous solutions to relevant real-world problems. The lab’s mission is to bridge the gap between academic research and applied execution. Focus is placed on solving real-world problems of high societal impact and practicality.
Digital Society Initiative
Also housed within AIDA, the Digital Society Initiative fosters better collaborations with the industry to answer questions of strategic importance to the digital society through vigorous academic and applied research. Recognizing that the future societal prosperity will be defined by how we creatively use, deploy, and assimilate digital technologies in all the sectors of the economy and by how the culture is shaped by this paradigm shift, we focus on a number of related, high-impact topics.
Blockchain Research Lab
Also affiliated with AIDA, the Blockchain Research Lab advances the research and development of blockchain-based technologies for use in business, finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, and all other areas of potential impact. Since the lab’s creation in 2017, the team has partnered with dozens of industry leaders to provide blockchain-backed solutions for real-world problems.
