The Secret Code of Business

The Secret Code of Business workshop is a middle school outreach program that promotes STEM education within business. This program ensures student access to education and fuels discovery, creativity, and innovation. Each semester, the Department of Information Systems and the DISC student club helps 6th, 7th, and 8th graders visualize a successful future using the coding and business tools they learn.

About the program

The Secret Code of Business triggers an early passion for pursuing a STEM-related college degree and career. In October, March, and twice in June, middle school students visit the ASU campus for interactive sessions in our computer classroom, learning about coding, data analysis, and other important information system and business concepts. Current ASU students gain valuable leadership and volunteering skills by facilitating the program and inspiring younger students to consider majors in technology-oriented business degrees.

Participating students receive supplementary information and workbooks to help them continue their education in STEM fields.

The Secret Code of Business is sponsored by State Farm for the 2017-2018 academic year.
