Delivered by the highly ranked Department of Information Systems and NASPO Department of Supply Chain Management, the Online Master of Science in Business Analytics (MS‑BA) is delivered 100% online to align with your schedule. The curriculum is informed by industry partners to ensure its applicability in the real world, builds on your quantitative skills, and develops the analytics depth you need to make an immediate impact in your career.

Curriculum

The lock-step approach to the Online MS-BA curriculum ensures that you’ll learn concepts that weave together to create a stronger body of knowledge, and you’ll study and work on projects with teammates whenever it’s most convenient for you. The program offers multiple start options in August, January, and May for your convenience. Although you take your coursework online, you are always welcome to visit us on campus, and we hope that you and your classmates join us on campus for graduation.

Deep learning applications have become an integral part of our lives over the last decade. Alexa, Amazon Go, Waymo, Apple Face ID, and Facebook's face recognition applications are all powered by deep learning networks. Applications based on deep learning models cover a wide spectrum of industries including retail, automotive, manufacturing, health care, banking, insurance, agriculture, security and surveillance. Hands-on look at the latest models, trends and challenges of deep learning applications in business.

Explains the skills and knowledge necessary for mastery of the use of quantitative modeling tools and techniques to support a variety of business decisions. Also explores deterministic optimization techniques, including linear programming, nonlinear programming, integer programming; network models and a brief introduction to metaheuristics. Covers the use of these models for a variety of common business problems. Practical application of these models uses Excel and standalone software. Also studies how to ensure that these solutions work in a wide variety of situations (what-if analysis).

Provides a solid foundation and deeper understanding of the use of quantitative modeling tools and techniques to solve problems faced in modern supply chains. Uses Excel workbooks to implement the appropriate quantitative methods, including forecasting demand, capacity planning of a manufacturing line and the line cycle time as it pertains to parts inventory management.

Applied capstone project

A culminating capstone project designed for working professionals gives Online MS-BA students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge. You'll collaborate with real organizations to solve business challenges.

Together with your team, you'll analyze real-world datasets and share insights drawn from your work experiences. You'll present recommendations and innovative solutions to the organization's leadership team at the end. This experience strengthens your ability to translate complex data into clear insights, a crucial skill for analysts. Many corporate partners recruit master's students for internships and full-time roles based on capstone project performance.

Every year, students collaborate with their employers to identify projects that help address business needs. That means our students will be working with real data and applying the new skills they've learned. They will also learn how to communicate data insights effectively with employers and non-technical team members.
