Innovating at the intersection of medicine and business with Mayo Clinic

Designed for Mayo Clinic’s new physician department and division chairs, the annual Mayo Clinic Physician Leadership Business Academy was developed to build business fluency while solving real-time challenges. Co-directed and co-taught by W. P. Carey faculty and Mayo leaders, sessions on finance, strategy, leadership, and innovation integrate academic rigor with health care expertise. Teams apply design thinking to current issues facing their clinical practices — ensuring that each concept is both understood and actionable in the complex world of modern medicine.

Driving financial acumen and customer loyalty at Acron Aviation

Acron Aviation collaborated with ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business to advance customer service and financial acumen through a customized Certificate in Customer Centricity and Financial Results. Delivered fully online, the program guided five employee cohorts through three high-impact courses blending financial tools, customer insights, and real-world application. Participants earned a digital badge while translating learning into action — enhancing service, boosting value creation, and aligning operations with business goals.

Preparing full-stack developers with Cognizant

To meet growing demand for web developers, Cognizant Consulting partnered with ASU and the W. P. Carey School of Business to offer the Full Stack Developer Certificate — a comprehensive software development training program ideal for career changers, upskillers, military, and underserved populations. Delivered through AZNext and the Cognizant Skills Accelerator, the program upskills participants on essential software development tools, approaches, and processes. Certification graduates are shortlisted to interview for a full-time paid apprenticeship with Cognizant.

Developing unique business programs for Starbucks

W. P. Carey is proud to play a role in Starbucks’ innovative partnership at ASU, including the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, the ASU-Starbucks Center for the Future, Starbucks Global Academy, and other innovative business solutions, including corporate business programs.

One such collaboration is a noncredit-bearing, professional development workshop delivered remotely via Zoom that focuses on strategic decision framing.
