Biography

Dr. Collin Sellman is on the faculty in the Department of Information Systems and teaches courses related to big data, data science, and analytics strategy in the graduate and MBA programs. He has developed and taught custom executive education programs focused on strategy, innovation, and scientific decision making. He also has worked as a data science and analytics consultant for technology and bio technology firms through the university.

Collin is the CEO and principal investigator at Fireline Science LLC which is a small R&D business focused on data science-based product innovations with a specific focus on rural schools with limited resources like those on the Navajo Nation. Fireline Science was awarded a grant by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to further their work in this area.

Collin was most recently the head of Learning Analytics and Data Science for the U.S. Learning Services division at Pearson, Inc. He also led product management teams responsible for K12 learning platforms and content for Pearson Digital Learning. Prior to Pearson, Collin led product management and development teams in the Internet infrastructure industry at !NTERPRISE Networking Services, Qwest Communications International, One2One UK, and Level 3 Communications where he launched many new products and two new business units.  

He has an MBA and Ph.D. from Arizona State University and continues to be active in research related to innovation, product development, and data science.
