Biography

As Director, Elana Kutz oversees ASUs B.A. in Sports and Media Studies undergraduate degree program for the W. P. Carey School of Business.  This includes managing curriculum, serving as a faculty adjunct member in the program, advising all sports business organizations, and overseeing sports business relations with the sports business community.  Elana has taught Fan Behavior and Sports Marketing and Final Four Experience.  Elana also coaches students in sports career development, networking, and personal branding.  As an Advisor for the Sports Business Association and Sports Business Scholars, she develops programming, outreach trips, career fairs, and an annual symposium.  In addition, Elana manages ASUs Sports Advisory Board.  Previously, Elana was an Assistant Director for ASUs Graduate Career Management Center, where she served as a Career Consultant coaching MBA marketing and sports business students. 

Prior to ASU, Elana spent over ten years in the sports industry.  She led market research projects and development for Turnkey Sports & Entertainment.  As Marketing Manager for Madison Square Gardens Sports Properties division, she managed marketing and promotions for college basketball, boxing, the Women's World Tennis Championships, the Harlem Globetrotters, track, and wrestling events.  Elana also managed concept development for ARAMARKs Sports & Entertainment division, which included food service at ballparks, arenas, and stadiums.  Additionally, she held marketing roles at FOX Sports Arizona, the Phoenix Regional Sports Commission, the Phoenix Suns and Radio City Entertainment.  

Elana received her undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Michigan and earned an MBA in Sports Business from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State.  Elana was the recipient of the Student Organization Advisor of the Year in 2014-2015 by the W. P. Carey School of Business.  The Sports Business Association was the recipient of Organization of the Year under her direction in 2013-2014, 2015-2016, & 2016-17.  In addition, Sports Business Scholars was the recipient of Emerging Organization of the Year under her direction in 2016-17.  She enjoys volunteering for Generation GF and Desert Stages Theatre.
