Biography

Gregory Collins is a global supply chain and operations executive with over 20 years of experience in China and Asia, which includes leadership roles at Microsoft, Flex, and Gerber Scientific.   In 2006, Mr. Collins founded The Lakeline Group, a Hong Kong and Shanghai-based investment and consulting firm, providing private equity investors with global supply chain and operations strategy, cross-border supply chain integration, global operational restructuring, and supply chain investment.  He has worked with boards, management teams, and supply chains in 30 countries and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

An early innovator in China’s supply chain development, Mr. Collins moved to Changsha, Hunan in 1992.  Following his MBA from ASU's WP Carey School of Business in 1997, he led the early China outsourcing of branded hardware and gaming devices for Microsoft Corp.  In 2000, he pioneered the development of the Shanghai and North China contract manufacturing supply chain as Vice President of Operations at Flex, building manufacturing and supply chain operations in Shanghai, Tianjin, Nanjing, Changzhou, Beijing, and Qingdao for the manufacturing of inkjet printers, mobile phones, networking and telecommunications equipment.  He went on to lead the Asia-Pacific EMS business as Senior Vice President, developing the first Latin American and European supply chain solutions for Huawei, ZTE, and other Asian emerging industrial leaders.  From 2010-2016, Mr. Collins helped privatized industrial automation leader, Gerber Scientific, leading the Global Supply Chain and Operations transformation to an industry-first, modular, circular supply chain from China.

Mr. Collins currently teaches Supply Chain Strategy and Operations and Supply Chain Management in the Executive and Full-Time MBA programs at WP Carey School of Business.  A University of Colorado Conference on World Affairs speaker from 2007-2009, Mr. Collins has also lectured at the Leaders in Manufacturing Program at MIT’s Sloan School of Business, Zhongshan University, Hunan Medical University, Fudan University, and Shanghai Jiaotong University.  Mr. Collins has been awarded with the Key of Shanghai by Shanghai Chief Huang Ju in 2002, a 2008 Beijing Olympics Sponsorship by Olympics Chairman and Beijing Mayor Liu Qi, and he was honored in the Great Hall of the People by Chinese President Hu Jin Tao in 2004.

Gregory Collins holds an MBA in Supply Chain Management from the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, a BA from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and studied Chinese at Thunderbird School of Global Management.
