Program details

The AZNext Google IT Support Certificate is offered 100% online. You'll work through six ASU Universal Learner courses that leverage the Google IT Support curriculum as well as supplementary industry material. We aim to give you the best preparation possible to begin a career in information technology.

Who is this program for?

The IT support certification is designed for undergraduate students and working professionals interested in an industry-recognized certificate and pursuing a bachelor’s or higher-level degree. As part of ASU's Universal Learner program, AZNext participants who complete their no-cost certification program will have the option to pay a fee to convert their certificate to college credits that stack directly into degree programs within the W. P. Carey School of Business.

Program participants must be:

• 17 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• An Arizona resident who is unemployed or underemployed looking to upskill and retrain

Note: Current ASU students are ineligible to apply.

What will I learn?

AZNext Google IT Support Certificate program participants acquire hands-on skills that are in high demand within the IT sector. This IT certification emphasizes gaining knowledge in setting up and troubleshooting computer systems. You'll have the necessary skills to be a competent technology professional and pursue a range of entry-level tech support roles.

• Management of an organization's hardware, networking technology, and software
• How to interact with Windows and Linux OS through the command line, how file systems work, and how to use package managers
• Process management and remote connection tools
• Management of an entire fleet, infrastructure services, cloud resources, and industry tools
• How to create a multi-layered, in-depth information security architecture

What careers can this program lead to?

Graduates of the AZNext Google IT Support Certificate program receive a co-branded professional certificate from ASU and Google. Participants also have access to Google's employer consortium, giving you the opportunity to get your foot in the door with over 150 top employers.

You'll have the skills to pursue a career in IT support, which is the doorway to higher-level IT jobs. Professionals who start in entry-level IT support roles can move in nearly any direction in IT, cybersecurity, programming, applications, and AI. User support specialists make an average salary of $59,970, and the employment rate is projected to grow by eight percent over the next few years.
