The Dean's Council is a national group of prominent business executives invited to play a leadership role in shaping the future of the W. P. Carey School. Members advise the dean and act as W. P. Carey School advocates in their communities and organizations.
Please review the Dean’s Council benefits and responsibilities document to learn more about the Council and how you can become a member.
The Dean's Council membership supports our strategic initiatives and assists the W. P. Carey School in achieving the goals set forth by the dean. The membership meets twice a year to discuss issues as a Council and propose recommendations to the dean. In addition, there are several events throughout the year available for Council member participation.
Each year the W. P. Carey School Dean's Council honors a business leader whose contribution is recognized as significant, whose inspired management has created and sustained superior organizational performance, and whose presence exemplifies a model for future business leaders. Executive of the Year recipients are pioneers in the home computing, telecommunications, automotive, Internet, solar energy, aviation, and retail industries.
2019 Executive of the Year is Doug Parker, CEO of American Airlines.
A portion of Dean’s Council annual membership contributions support faculty members through the Distinguished Scholar program. The Dean’s Council Distinguished Scholar award is presented to faculty who have demonstrated the highest levels of excellence in scholarship, both research and teaching, throughout their careers.
