Many Fleischer Scholars have earned their college degrees from the W. P. Carey School of Business after attending the summer program. Then a student at Alhambra High School in Phoenix, Josh Elizetxe (BS Computer Information Systems ’13) participated in the Fleischer Scholar program’s inaugural year.

Looking back, he describes the experience as life-changing and a “catalyst” for his future success. “After that summer, I went back to my senior year and became valedictorian of my class because I realized that I wanted to go to college — and it was possible.”

Elizetxe was inducted to the W. P. Carey Alumni Hall of Fame in Fall 2023. He is a serial entrepreneur, innovator, and investor who aims to make a difference by spreading knowledge and creating opportunities.
