Your MS-IVD experience

A distinct offering developed for future-forward thinkers, the W. P. Carey Master of Science in Innovation and Venture Development (MS-IVD) fills in blanks that most entrepreneurship programs miss. Join a small founding team, tackle meaningful challenges, and prepare to make a difference in companies and communities around the world.

Venture-based, full-time format

MS-IVD students become entrepreneurs on day one. Team up with mentors and peers, as you create, develop, and road test ventures that deliver social, environmental, and financial value.

Student-centric studio courses

Learn by doing, through studio-based classes that mirror the real world. You’ll experience every step of the venture development process, while working on a pain point you’ve always wanted to resolve.

STEM-designated program

The MS-IVD program has been designated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency within the Department of Homeland Security as a STEM eligible degree program (CIP code 30.0601). The STEM designation allows eligible graduates on student visas access to an Optional Practical Training (OPT) extension, up to 36 months, as compared to 12 months for non-STEM degrees.
