Dates and deadlines
Important program dates
Students admitted to the program will be required to attend a mandatory virtual orientation session during the week of April 24 and an in-person opening session on Saturday, May 20.
Virtual programming takes place on a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., or 4 p.m. Scholar movement between cohorts is not permitted after the mandatory in-person opening session that takes place on May 20.
During the summer program, scholars will work toward the completion of their selected ASU Universal Learner College Course and the completion of an Entrepreneurship Team Challenge Project.
Project teams are revealed on May 20 at the mandatory opening session that scholars will attend with one parent or guardian guest. At that event, scholars also meet the assigned program mentors. Each team’s program mentor is a current W. P. Carey School of Business or a current ASU undergraduate student who completed a Fleischer Scholars Program when they were in high school.
Each Monday or Tuesday, there will be a required virtual Fleischer Program development workshop. If a scholar misses any workshop, they will be required to attend a recorded session and may be required to complete a short quiz related to the material that is covered by the staff or guest speakers of these workshops.
Each Wednesday or Thursday, the cohorts will be required to meet with their mentor and team of 5 to 6 other scholars virtually during their cohort time of 9 a.m., 1 p.m., or 4 p.m. There will also be virtual fun that takes place during these meeting times.
Application deadlines
The applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the Fleischer Scholars Program is full. Applications submitted after March 1, 2023 will not be eligible for a laptop and may be placed on waitlist to be admitted to the program.

Who is Morton Fleischer?
Morton Fleischer is a successful financier, entrepreneur and real estate investor. From his beginnings as a janitor in the local dime store to now, he has formed more than twenty real estate companies, taking three of them public on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
With the Fleischer Scholars Program, his goal is to assist economically disadvantaged students allowing them to graduate from college and to encourage them to invest their time and talent back into their hometown communities upon graduation. He calls this the “multiplier effect” and hopes that these future leaders will serve as role models and thus cause a ripple effect in these communities.
