The Rising Leaders Program provides an exciting opportunity for high school students to earn college credit while living and learning at one of the nation’s best business schools. Rising Leaders is an immersive high school summer program designed to help you make informed decisions about your college experience and future. When you complete the program, you'll receive college credit and an ASU application fee waiver to help you take the next step toward your future.

You’ll get to know dedicated faculty members across disciplines — and see firsthand how they mentor students — as they guide you through hands-on learning activities, an applied project, and academic expectations.

Rising Leaders provides a variety of event programming, including social activities and pool nights, designed to welcome you to our business community. You’ll make friends with peers from all backgrounds, form lifelong memories, and connect with our encouraging faculty and staff. By the end of the program, you’ll have a network of future classmates and mentors who will support you on your college journey.
Customize your learning
Early exposure to all available degree options can help you decide on your major when applying for direct admission to W. P. Carey. You’ll also have the chance to take a deeper dive into the area of business that interests you most. Choose from options such as AI and entrepreneurship to uncover your potential career path and what it takes to become a future business leader.
Experience life at W. P. Carey
Rising Leaders is your chance to experience life at one of the nation’s leading business schools. You’ll live in one of our residential communities for six days and five nights, getting to know your home as a future business student. You’ll also tour community spaces and ASU’s Tempe campus to learn more about the university’s facilities and resources.
Earn college credit
Get a head start on your business student journey. Participants who complete the summer program will earn one college credit and an application fee waiver to ASU.
Entrepreneurship
This specialization offers a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of entrepreneurship. It is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, and anyone interested in learning how new ventures are created, developed, and scaled. Students will explore the entrepreneurial mindset, opportunity recognition, business model development, and the fundamentals of launching and managing a startup.
AI In Business
This specialization provides a foundational understanding of how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the modern business landscape. Designed for non-technical professionals, it explores key AI concepts, tools, and applications across various business functions. Participants will learn how AI technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, and intelligent automation are used to drive efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and support strategic decision-making.
Sports Business
This specialization introduces students to the dynamic and fast-growing world of sports as a global business. Designed for those interested in careers in sports management, marketing, media, or analytics, it explores how professional, collegiate, and emerging sports organizations operate. Students will examine key areas such as sports marketing and branding, fan engagement, media and broadcasting, sponsorships, event management, and the financial and legal aspects of the sports industry. Through real-world examples and industry insights, participants will gain an understanding of how business strategies drive success on and off the field.
Program cost and application deadlines
Rising Leaders is an all-inclusive pre-college summer program that costs $1,400. The program fee covers all meals, housing, educational materials, college credit, branded swag, and student activities.
