How to create media, step-by-step:

  • For Instructors, we recommend working with an Instructional Designerto create a plan for integrating media, mapping out content delivery, and identifying how many videos are needed.
  • After meeting with your Instructional Designer, or if you do not have one, contact and / or meet with us. Together we can determine the best methods for recording by identifying your concerns, time constraints, and what media will work best for your content.
  • All of the studio spaces require a confirmed appointment, to make one please visit the Recording Reservations page.
    • The Big Studio (BAC 318) is a full-capacity, manned studio, and may be scheduled Tuesday-Friday.
    • The Small Studio (BA 202D) is a self-serve space that cannot accommodate scripted material or Smart Podium content. It may be scheduled 7 days a week (excluding holidays / university closures).
  • Check your reservations to confirm your studio location and please be on time. If you anticipate being late or need to cancel your reservation please notify the Multimedia Team immediately, as studio time may be in high demand.
  • We recommend all powerpoint presentations are widescreen (16x9) formatted.
  • Check your reservations to confirm your studio location and please be on time. If you anticipate being late or need to cancel your reservation please notify the Multimedia Team immediately, as studio time may be in high demand.
  • Do not wear green to any of our studios, it causes problems with the Green Screen technology.
  • The Small (One-Button) studio requires a large flash drive on which to store the video you record. The Multimedia team has a limited number of flash drives available for checkout.
  • All videos created for instructors will be uploaded to a W. P. Carey hosting service and a link provided to you and / or your Instructional Designer to be placed in the course site.
  • Please let us know if an alternate delivery method is required.

If you are uncertain about your media needs or have other inquires, please contact Jeff.Hough@asu.edu and/or Anie.Miles@asu.edu for assistance.
