Professional Sales

Designed for non-marketing majors, the certificate in professional sales prepares you for careers in account management or sales in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer settings. While optional, an internship in sales, as part of the professional sales certificate, is strongly encouraged.


  • Develop acumen for a position in professional sales
  • Understand the processes involved in building and sustaining successful sales relationships
  • Discover the skills necessary to manage and lead a sales team and organization


  • 15 credit hours, including:
    • MKT 300 Marketing and Business Performance
    • MKT 370 Professional Sales and Relationship Management
    • MKT 410 Sales and Sales Management
  • Any two of the following courses:
    • MKT 435 Entrepreneurial Marketing
    • MKT 441 Sports Relationship Management
    • MKT 396 Essentials of Services Marketing
    • MKT 460 Sports Revenue Generation (BS students only)
    • MKT 484 Internship (in sales)
    • MKT 493 Honors Thesis
    • MGT 430 Negotiations
  • 2.00 cumulative GPA in specified courses
