Academic Advising

The W. P. Carey School offers academic advising by appointment, with assigned campus-specific advisors for first-year students, upperclass students (including new transfer students), Leaders Academy students, and ASU Online.

To schedule an appointment, visit our advising directory to select your advisor. Appointments last approximately 30 minutes.

Career Coaching

For internship, career, and graduate school preparation advising, please schedule an appointment to meet with your career coach.

Study Abroad

The Global Education Office offers introductory resources and multiple contact options for students interested in studying abroad. Depending on your program of interest, you can make an appointment with the assigned International Coordinator to understand your next steps.

International Business Certificate

The certificate in international business allows you to expand your horizons and opportunities by learning about the global economy. Make an appointment to talk to an advisor about enrolling in this certificate program.

Course/Term Override Requests

Having trouble registering into a class? Submit a request to override enrollment into a course.

  • Course Capacity Override: Request permission to enroll in a full class offered by W. P. Carey. Requests are reviewed taking in many different factors and approval is not guaranteed. This is an override into a full class only and course prerequisites must be met.
  • Term Overload Request: Request to enroll in more credits than allowed for a term/session.
  • Prerequisite Override: Request permission to register for a course you meet the prerequisites for, but the system does not read it correctly. W. P. Carey requires all student to meet prerequisites for a course.
  • Thesis Override: Obtain permission to enroll in a 492 or 493 thesis course offered by W. P. Carey (for Barrett students only).

Petitions

Submit a formal request for an exception to a university or school standard or policy.*

Minors/Certificates

W. P. Carey students: Enhance your degree with an additional emphasis or focus area. 

 

Non-business students: Add depth to your ASU degree with a business certificate or minor.

Interested in changing your major or adding a concurrent degree? Submit your request* using the options below.
