NCAA President Mark Emmert to discuss challenges of running championships

NCAA PRESIDENT MARK EMMERT TO DISCUSS CHALLENGES OF RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIPS

What:

Mark Emmert will be the featured speaker at an upcoming luncheon, hosted by the Economic Club of Phoenix and W. P. Carey School of Business.

Members of the media are welcome to listen, as Dr. Emmert addresses the challenges and opportunities in leading the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), its critical role in interpreting legislation, running championships, student safety, and managing programs that benefit nearly half a million student athletes, who attend more than 1,100 schools across the U.S.

Who:

Mark Emmert became the fifth president of the NCAA in October 2010.

The Economic Club of Phoenix has been an integral part of the Phoenix business community since 1985, bringing together the best thinking from business, labor, academia and the public sector to discuss current issues affecting Phoenix and beyond.

With the NCAA tournament, already underway, Emmert’s schedule will not allow for one-on-one interviews at this time. But media is welcome to film the event and an audio board will be provided for sound.
