Cream of the crop: U. S. News ranks online graduate programs for vets in top 5

The W. P. Carey School of Business is among the top five schools offering online graduate business programs for veterans. U.S. News & World Report, in its 2015 Best Online Programs for Veterans listing, ranked the school’s online graduate programs No. 2 and the W. P. Carey Online MBA No. 4.

U.S. News & World Report identified 737 programs that provide veterans with high-quality, flexible online education options across eight categories for its third annual ranking. The W. P. Carey School’s offerings, consistently in the top five, offer veterans and other online students access to the same respected faculty that teach in the on-campus programs.

In addition to its rankings specific to veterans, U. S. News & World Report ranks online programs overall. In that ranking, W. P. Carey’s online graduate business programs are No. 3 and the W. P. Carey Online MBA is No. 4.

“This ranking is more evidence that the W. P. Carey School of Business is providing high quality programs that provide students with the flexibility they need to complete graduate school while continuing in their careers,” said Dean Amy Hillman. “We are especially gratified to help those who are serving or have served in our nation’s military to advance their skills.”

The online programs ranked No. 2 include the Master of Science in Information Management (MSIM) and the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MS-BA). Students in the 16-month MSIM program learn from faculty who lead research on the latest advances in technology-driven change, and from classmates who are experiencing that change in companies across the world. The MS-BA, also a 16-month program, is led by a faculty team from the highly-ranked Department of Information Systems and Department of Supply Chain Management. The program combines analytical depth and business acumen, preparing students for a fast growing number of positions in data and business analytics.

Ranked No. 4, the W. P. Carey Online MBA offers students the opportunity to advance in their careers and complete a rigorous program at the same time. Core courses are delivered one at a time, together with a flexible menu of electives. Unlike most online programs, the W. P. Carey Online MBA enables students to specialize in one of four areas of concentration: marketing, finance, supply chain management or international business.
