Leadership is about much more than just managing your team or subordinates.
Effectively leading — or managing up — can have a tremendous impact on both your performance and career.
This half-day workshop will explore ways to manage impressions up the ladder, so you know exactly what your leader expects of you, and can both manage and deliver upon those expectations. You’ll discover strategies to more easily and successfully communicate and interact with your leader, ensuring you’re fully understood and supported as an asset to the organization.

Dr. Suzanne Peterson is the faculty director of executive education at ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business. A recipient of the MBA Outstanding Teaching award in 2012, she teaches an Executive MBA course on high-impact leadership as an associate professor of management at the W. P. Carey School.
In her industry-related work, Dr. Peterson emphasize leadership style and credibility, effective communication, and strong relationship-building skills as the critical building blocks to leadership success. She has coached executives and teams, been an advisor senior leadership across small businesses and Fortune 500 companies, and worked as a change management consultant for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) prior to joining academia.
With work appearing in and being referenced by top academic business journals and media outlets, Dr. Peterson is a respected leadership expert in both academic and industry circles. She continues to contribute her expertise to the wider community as a leadership columnist for the Arizona Republic.
