Copyright & IP Resources

Faculty / Instructors are responsible for the content of the respective media produced by the Multimedia team and ensuring that the use of any copyright protected material(s) fulfill their pedagogical purpose.

Before recording and for each iteration of your course, you must carefully review your content to ensure that all articles, images, video, and audio are material you have created, appropriately licensed, written permission has been obtained, appropriately credited, or it is free of copyright. For instances where copyright protected material is used, it is the instructor’s responsibility for complying with the TEACH Act and understanding the limitations of the Fair Use defense.

If you have a question about including content within your recordings, such as a video from Youtube, or other media, please let us know in advance as there may be technology solutions available within Canvas.
