Economics Advising
Economics Major RequirementsThe curriculum for the Bachelor of Science (BS) in economics provides students with an understanding of how households, firms and governments make economic decisions and how the implications of those decisions affect the business environment, resource allocation, pricing, distribution of income, economic growth and other macroeconomic variables. It provides students with the analytical and quantitative skills needed to prepare them for careers in business, government or public policy. The BS program of study can also be tailored to prepare students for graduate programs in economics, business, or law. Students interested in pursing a PhD in economics are strongly encouraged to minor or major in mathematics as well. Graduation RequirementsStudents are required to complete a Declaration of Graduation upon completing 87 semester hours. Students who have not met this requirement are prevented from further registration. Your advisor will review your degree audit and assist you with your Declaration of Graduation.
