Business EngineeringGeneralThe Business-Engineering Concurrent Degree is a collaborative effort between the W. P. Carey School of Business and Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. The program is designed for talented business students who desire a basic foundation in engineering. The Business-Engineering program is a unique blend of a business major with a concentration in engineering, preparing students for work in the corporate world with a very strong technical background. The curriculum requires coursework within each of the colleges as well as interdisciplinary work through which students will apply business and engineering skills to relevant applied projects. Students completing the exclusive Business-Engineering Concurrent Degree will graduate from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in any of seven majors from the W. P. Carey School and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Engineering Business. Career Opportunities in the FieldOpportunities for students completing the Business-Engineering Concurrent Degree will vary according to business major and engineering emphasis. In most cases, a student will work in a position corresponding to their business major with the ability and option to work in an industry that corresponds to their specific engineering concentration. Uniqueness of the Program at ASUDue to the demanding curricular requirements placed on business and engineering students, this program is distinctive because it merges the requirements of the W. P. Carey School of Business and the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. Additionally, students will have the very unique opportunity to take a truly interdisciplinary capstone course that will focus on application of both skill sets. High School or College PreparationTo be successful in this program, students should have strong quantitative and communication skills, as well as basic knowledge in the sciences. Carey School of Business AND admission to Barrett, The Honors College or a score of1250 SAT/28 ACT and a 3.6 grade point average upon graduation from high school.
