CAEL Internships
The ASU Certificate for Automotive Entrepreneurs and Leaders internship seeks to provide an opportunity for outstanding students to broaden their background in the automotive industry by acquiring a paid internship. The internship should typically involve approximately 250-300 hours of employment and should provide the intern an opportunity to get hands-on experience in an auto-related company.
Eligibility
Students enrolled in the Certificate for Automotive Entrepreneurs and Leaders Program are eligible to apply for an internship. To qualify, students must have successfully completed MGT/MKT 494: Dealership Management at ASU.
Academic Credit
Upon successful completion of the internship and related assignments, students will receive 3 credits. Assignments will include regular journal entries and a complete process analysis due at the end of the internship.
Student Responsibilities
- Adhere to the highest degree of professionalism in undertaking the internship.
- Adhere to the attendance policies and work requirements established by the sponsoring organization. The specific hours a student commits to an internship are agreed upon in advance by the student, the organization and the Program Manager for the Certificate for Automotive Entrepreneurs and Leaders Program.
- Complete the required written assignments.
- Establish all arrangements with the sponsoring organization for transportation, remuneration and employee benefits.
Responsibilities of Sponsoring Organization
- Assign a staff person as the field Instructor with the overall responsibility for developing the organization's participation in professional education.
- Assure the availability of appropriate learning experiences that will enrich the overall educational preparation of the student.
- Provide the physical facilities and support necessary to accommodate the learning experience.
- Make arrangements with the student for remuneration and employee benefits.
- Provide the student with regular feedback including an evaluation mid-way through the internship
