Proposed Certificate in Knowledge Entrepreneurship and InnovationNote: ASU 177: My Life Venture will be offered beginning Fall 2008 My Life Venture will be the first in a series of five courses that will comprise a university-wide certificate in Knowledge Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Successive courses will provide training in advanced topics related to venture creation and will provide tailored experiences in individual colleges and schools. The certificate program will comprise three university-wide courses followed by two courses within a student’s disciplinary college. Individual colleges will be encouraged to offer a capstone course as part of the program. Beyond topics related specifically to entrepreneurial business practices, courses will include such topics as social entrepreneurship, arts entrepreneurship, idea generation and storytelling as additional perspectives for the student entrepreneur. Students completing the certificate in Knowledge Entrepreneurship and Innovation will be recognized for their achievements on their transcripts, and career services will market the certificate to potential employers, highlighting the innovative skills that students with this designation can offer.
