Sun Devil Tracking

Sun Devil Tracking (also known as Critical Tracking) is a program that provides ASU students a clear path to graduation by providing an optimal course plan and by tracking progress in critical courses and requirements.

W. P. Carey critical requirements are as follows:

  • For all Skill Courses (ACC 230/231, ACC 240/241, CIS 105 or CIS 220, ECN 211, ECN 212, ECN 221, MAT 210 or MAT 270, MAT 211 or 271):
    • Achieve a minimum grade of "C" or better
    • For Bachelor of Science students (Accountancy, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management,) complete all Skill Courses by the end of your third term
    • For Bachelor of Arts students (Concentration in Communication, Sustainability, Tourism Management, or Urban Policy,) complete all Skill Courses by the end of your fourth term
  • View your major mapnew window.  For all other Critical Courses, which are identified bold font and shaded rows, achieve a minimum grade of "C" or better and complete in the designated term.
  • Maintain Good Standing, which requires an ASU Cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher.
  • Exploratory Students must select a major:
    • If you are a Business Exploratory student in the Bachelor of Science degree, you must select a major by the end of your second term
    • If you are a Business Exploratory student in the Bachelor of Arts degree, you must select a major by the end of your first term.

How do I know what my track status is?

Students may login to MyASU and view their status in the "My Programs & Advising" section.*

What does it mean to be "Off Track?"

This means that you are not meeting at least one of the W. P. Carey critical requirements and must see your academic advisor to remove the eAdvisor hold, which restricts future registration and adding classes to your current schedule.

Students who are off track for 2 semesters for the same requirement will be required to change majors.  We suggest meeting with an advisor as soon as possible to review your critical requirements, determine the applicability of courses you may be completing at a community college, discuss how you can get back on track, and to explore success strategies.

How do I return to "On Track" status?

Depending on which critical requirement is deficient, students may repeat classes or use summer and winter sessions to get back on track.  Please visit BA 109 to see an academic advisor.  Advising options can be found online
