Business Sustainability Major

The W. P. Carey School of Business has partnered with the School of Sustainability to offer students an innovative new degree.  The B.A. in Business Sustainability will train future leaders to develop practical solutions to some of the most pressing environmental, economic, and social challenges of sustainability, especially as they relate to urban areas. Recent interest in sustainability has forced businesses and government to ask serious questions about how they can understand, evaluate, and act on issues related to sustainability and still make sensible business decisions for both the short and long term.  This interest has created new employment for our graduates all over the world.

SUSTAINABILITY CORE (6 HOURS)

SOS 110 A Sustainable World
SOS 111 Sustainable Cities (HU or SB & G)    or     PUP 190         Sustainable Cities (HU or SB & G)

SUSTAINABILITY ELECTIVES (12 HOURS)

* Select three 300 level upper division courses:
SOS 320   Society and Sustainability
SOS 321   Policy, Planning and Governance in Sustainable Systems
SOS 322   International Development and Sustainability
SOS 323   Sustainable Urban Dynamics
SOS 324   Sustainable Energy, Materials, and Technology

Pre-Requisites:
Must complete SOS 110 and SOS 111/PUP190 with a 2.5 GPA or higher before enrolling in any upper division courses

Other:
Maximum of 9 upper division business credit hours may transfer (includes GBS 205 -   equivalent to LES 305 but upper division credit is not earned)
