Admission to the Academy
Business students may be admitted to the W. P. Carey Academy in three ways.
- Incoming W. P. Carey freshmen are admitted based on their academic records in high school, including grade point average and test scores.
- All Business Honors students are admitted automatically to Carey Academy. Business Honors students are those who are concurrently enrolled in W. P. Carey and Barrett, The Honors College.
- Students may apply at the end of each semester, beginning in fall 2009, for admission into the W. P. Carey Academy. See below for application information.
W. P. Carey Application Process
Strong W. P. Carey School of Business students may choose to apply for admission to the W. P. Carey Academy in order to benefit from many academic and co- and extra-curricular opportunities.Students must be admitted to ASU and enrolled in a W. P. Carey School of Business major prior to submitting the application.
In order to be eligible for admission to the W. P. Carey Academy through this application process, students must have completed at least twelve (12) credit-hours of college coursework, have earned a grade point average of 3.25 or higher and have at least four (4) semesters left in their degree program.
A complete application includes the following:
- A completed application form. The application may be submitted at any time, but applications will be reviewed at the end of each semester, once all grades have been posted.
- SAT(math and critical reading sections only) and/orACT composite&scores. These are required of all W. P. Carey students. If yours have already been submitted, there is no need to resubmit the scores.
- Up to two (2) letters of recommendation (optional). Students may choose to submit letters of recommendation to support their application materials.
