W. P. Carey Undergraduate Program Fees
Since the 2003-2004 academic year, upper-division undergraduate students in the W. P. Carey School of Business programs have paid a special program fee. The fee revenue has been used solely to provide curricula and student services that are not common at ASU, but which are covered by tuition at many schools that charge multiples of ASU’s tuition.
Who pays program fees and how much?
Effective beginning the 2009-2010 academic year, all upper-division undergraduate students declared in a W. P. Carey Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree programs will pay a $400 per semester program fee. Summer and winter program fees are $200 per summer session and $100 in winter.
What are fees used for?
Program fees have allowed us to maintain momentum and continue to compete, and have served W. P. Carey students well while in school and after graduation. Since inception of the program fees in 2003, funds have been used in the following ways:
Career Management (38% of total expenditures)
Assist students in exploring career options and coaching them in effective methods of job search. The overall objective is to improve career satisfaction, placement rates and salaries of our graduating students.
Student Engagement (28%)
Create an academic and social community for students that will increase involvement and retention through engagement of students in activities with faculty, peers and staff. New initiatives have related to Camp Carey, convocation and graduation, the Executive Lecture Series, Family Weekend, Welcome Week, student organization funding and activities, parent newsletter and parent engagement.
Curricula and Teaching (13%)
Provide classroom technology improvements, increase the number of student assistants in selected classes, and provide curricular options such as InnovationSpace to undergraduate students.
Financial Aid (21%)
Aid students with reported need.
