The Transfer Student Experience
Time spent at other institutions, the workplace, and in life builds a distinct point of view that makes transfer students a key part of the W. P. Carey student community. The W. P. Carey School of Business will work with you early in the application process to ensure you are prepared to apply, become familiar with the ASU environment, and learn about the campus resources. Ensuring you have the resources you need before classes begin, together with your own drive and hard work, will help you become a successful W. P. Carey student and alum.
Life as a transfer student is busy, so after you are admitted, we leverage technology to bring you up to speed with the people and things that are important to your life as a W .P. Carey student, and to do it at your convenience online. You are then provided information to connect with your academic advisor for a one-on-one appointment, where you can discuss your academic goals and submit your courses for review to ensure maximum transfer credit. After you register for classes, you can continue to meet with your advisor to make certain you are taking the courses you need to earn your degree.
As a transfer student it is important to take steps necessary to set internships and career goals as this will assist in the job search process. Even if you are already employed in your chosen industry, the network provided by the Business Career Center is invaluable for future mobility. A required course for all W. P. Carey students, WPC 301 will help you uncover the career resources available to you, and how to utilize them to accomplish your goals. It is important to schedule this class in your first semester at ASU.
