Scholarship Opportunities

The W. P. Carey School of Business offers scholarship opportunities to ease the burden of tuition and fees. Scholarship awards range from $500 - $5,000 annually and are funded through many sources, including private businesses, corporations, foundations, alumni, and individual donors.  

Selection is based on varying criteria such as GPA, leadership and community service, academic major, class level, financial need, and residency classification.

Types of W. P. Carey Scholarships

General Scholarships -- Available to any business student meeting the stated scholarship criteria. The Scholarship Selection Committee and/or the donor select the recipient for each of these scholarships. 

Departmental Scholarships -- Offered through the academic units within the W. P. Carey School of Business  and are restricted to students majoring in a particular discipline.

Applying for Scholarships

All undergraduate business students are encouraged to apply, including incoming freshmen and transfer students.

Students interested in scholarship funding should apply through both the ASU Scholarship Office new window for scholarships targeted to all ASU students and to the W. P. Carey School of Business Undergraduate Scholarship Office for scholarships targeted to business students exclusively.

Applying for W. P. Carey Scholarships

The W. P. Carey School of Business General Scholarship Application is used to determine award eligibility for both general and departmental scholarships within the school of business. Scholarships are awarded based on varying scholarship criteria, including GPA, leadership and community service, major, class level, financial need, and residency classification.

Applications will be available online in November 2012.

The W. P. Carey School of Business General Scholarship Application is an electronically filed online application. If you are applying for any scholarship through university or the school of business, you must complete the general scholarship application each academic year. Scholarships are awarded for the 2013 - 2014 academic year unless otherwise stated.

  • The application must be typewritten 
  • Upload a copy of your résumé, detailing internships, work experiences, educational accomplishments, and leadership positions
  • Complete the Academic Budget Form and two required essays

The deadline for incoming freshman is midnight, February 1, 2013.

The deadline for continuing and transfer students is January 14, 2013.

Applying for ASU General Scholarships

The ASU Scholarship Office administers University Scholarships, Private Donor Scholarships and non-university affiliated scholarships.  The ASU Scholarship Office new window maintains a list of current scholarships.

     Electronically file the FAFSA - March 1, 2013
     Electronically file ASU General Scholarship Application - February 1, 2013

Scholarship Notification

Students will be notified by the ASU Student Financial Aid Office of scholarship awards in May. Address changes, including temporary summer addresses should be updated by the student in their MyASU account.

Fund disbursement

Disbursement of business scholarships for the academic year begins on or about the first week of classes for the fall semester. Financial Aid new window can provide more information about disbursement and other financial assistance topics.
