Freshman Admissions

In order to be accepted as a W. P. Carey School of Business undergraduate student you must first apply to Arizona State University opens new window and select a W. P. Carey business degree program.

Applications for fall 2013 will continue to be accepted after the Feb. 1, 2013 priority deadline. To ensure maximum consideration for admission, preference of orientation dates and residential housing, it is important to submit an application as soon as possible.

Bachelor of Science Requirements

Freshman applicants who meet the requirements for ASU freshman admission opens new window and who meet one of the following four criteria may be directly admitted to the W. P. Carey School of Business Bachelor of Science degree programs:

  • An SAT (math and critical reading sections only) score of 1160
  • An ACT composite score of 25
  • A high school class ranking in the top 8 percent.
  • An overall high school GPA of 3.6 in ASU competency courses (4.0 = A)

Students who have previously attended or are currently attending ASU may be directly admitted to Bachelor of Science degree majors if they meet the following requirements.  Consult with your academic advisor to confirm your qualifications:   

  • Minimum 30 hours completed at ASU
  • Minimum 3.4 cumulative ASU GPA
  • Minimum six W. P. Carey School of Business skill courses completed at ASU
  • Minimum 3.4 W. P. Carey School of Business ASU skill courses cumulative GPA
  • No academic integrity violations on file

Bachelor of Arts Requirements

Freshman applicants who meet the requirements for ASU freshman admission opens new window are eligible for direct admission to the W. P. Carey School of Business Bachelor of Arts degree program. To be admitted to ASU, you must be a high school graduate and meet one of the following four criteria:

  • 3.0 GPA in competency courses
  • Top 25 percent of high school class
  • ACT score of 22 (24 nonresidents)
  • SAT reasoning score of 1040 (1110 nonresidents)

Note: All freshmen must submit either an SAT (math and critical reading sections only) test score or an ACT composite test score (we do not require the writing portion of these tests) by the end of their first semester at ASU. There is no minimum test score requirement for the Bachelor of Arts degree options.
