Undergraduate Enrollment on the Rise

The W. P. Carey School of Business has attracted a large and stellar group of first-year undergraduate students for the fall 2009 semester.

Preliminary figures show that a record 1,821 first-time freshmen were enrolled as of Aug. 21, compared with 1,805 as the official number last fall. The undergraduate program also enrolled 428 new transfer students, up from 345 last year.

The average SAT scores of freshmen Bachelor of Science students is 1211, compared with 1207 last year. ACT scores also are higher at 26.7, compared with 26.3 last year. The new freshmen come from 41 states and seven other countries. Forty percent are from out-of-state, including 236 from California, an increase of 16 percent over last year.
