Urban PolicyProgram DescriptionEconomic development and urban planning are inextricably linked. The urban policy concentration, combined with the business foundation, will prepare you to effectively understand and utilize business techniques in addressing many of the challenges of rapid urban growth. The program focuses on the complexity and range of issues affecting the quality of urban planning and development. Among the courses in the concentration are Urban Leadership and Collaborative Skills, Urban Governance, and Public Management and Administration. The concentration courses are offered through ASU’s College of Public Programs at the Downtown Phoenix campus. Career OpportunitiesHistorically urban planners have had little business background, but function in a system where business success is a key ingredient in high-quality, dynamic urban policy.
