Undergraduate Program

Management

Program Description

Today's ethical and responsible leaders have to be effective team builders. The leaders of companies that are succeeding in the new global marketplace possess excellent written and oral communication skills and extensive experience in guiding collaborative teams. The management major is at the leading edge with its strong emphasis on collaboration, leadership, communication, team building, business ethics, corporate social responsibility and community engagement.

In this major, you will engage with community-based group projects in not-for-profit and for-profit business settings. The curriculum begins with immersion in the fundamentals of the global economy, the world of e-business and collaborative teams. Throughout the program, understanding of theory and concepts of management and ethical leadership are enhanced by experiencing and testing these concepts in skill-based exercises, case discussions and team-based project work in the classroom and in the community.

If you wish to develop your own, individual entrepreneurial perspective, you may choose to pursue the Management major with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. This concentration prepares you to identify, evaluate and develop entrepreneurial opportunities, whether in existing companies or in new business ventures. Additional emphasis is added in the areas of critical thinking and problem solving across a range of challenges and opportunities that confront the entrepreneur throughout the life cycle of the business.

Career Opportunities

Our management graduates are recruited by management consulting firms, high-tech businesses, service and manufacturing companies, and large and small for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.
