Dean's Welcome

Dear Friends,

Photo of Dean Mittelstaedt, Jr.

This is a particularly exciting time for business education at ASU. As of 2003, our name is the W. P. Carey School of Business in honor of a major gift from Wm. Polk Carey, a New York real estate investment banking leader. His foundation's $50 million endowment is a testament to the research, global perspective, use of technology and emphasis on ethics that have earned this school of business both national and international stature.

Extraordinary support such as this makes many things possible: enhanced academic programs, state-of-the-art technology, progressive research and more partnerships with the business community. Providing a high quality learning environment for students is our top priority. Already, the W. P. Carey School of Business is known for its elite undergraduate honors program, its prestigious and specialized W. P. Carey MBA platforms, and an outstanding research-oriented faculty. For more than 40 years, this school of business has been accredited under the rigorous standards of AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

ASU has become the fifth largest university in the U.S., but its early focus on teaching and community is still the basis for the modern university and especially for the W. P. Carey School of Business. Our 2,500 undergraduate business students and more than 1,000 graduate students tell us they value our commitment to superior teaching, service and innovation.

As you explore our website, you'll learn more about all we have to offer. Discover why the W. P. Carey School of Business is recognized as one of the great public schools of business in the nation.

Thank you,

Signature of W. P. Carey Dean Robert Mittelstaedt Jr.
