What Research Software Does W. P. Carey Use?

BIT supports access to data sources and services as well as software to access and manipulate research data. Examples are Compustat, CRSP, Factiva, FDIC and many others.

BIT also supports access to a variety of data acquisition and manipulation software packages in support of the W. P. Carey School research mission. Services include software installation, software utilization, database access, and new software compatibility testing. A list of available licensed analytical software is found below. Funding for software that is not currently available through our licensed library can be provided by an academic department, a research grant, or may be requested in an annual software funding cycle conducted by the Business IT Strategic Oversight Committee (BITSOC).

Business IT is committed to providing access for the products listed in this section including installation, configuration and granting access to data that requires an account, such as WRDS, DataStream, or SDC.

Core Supported products have the following characteristics:

  • Products are critical to the WPC Mission
  • Products are widely used across the main WPC Campuses
  • Sufficient support resources exist
  • Valid licenses exist
