File Restore On occasion it may be necessary to restore a deleted file. BIT has configured software on the storage servers which take a snapshot of folders and files every hour for the last five hours, every day for the last three days and three days in the previous week. An individual can easily retrieve a lost file from any of the incrimented snapshots. - Open My Computer to view available drives.
-
Right click on the network drive which has the file that was deleted and choose properties from the available menu. -
Double-click a previous version of the folder that contains the file or folder you want to restore or highlight the previous version and click the OK button. (For example, if a file was deleted today, choose a version of the folder from yesterday, which should contain the file.) -
In the folder, drag the file or folder that you want to restore to another location, such as your desktop or another folder. -
The version of the file or folder is saved to the location that you selected.
