BIT Survey

Citrix

BIT administers Citrix servers that deliver remote applications to students, faculty, staff, affiliates, and guests. Programs available on Citrix include Microsoft applications, data analysis applications and development / programming applications. Citrix provides the convenience of having access to an application without having the application installed on the computer. Access to approved applications is provided automatically based on a person's affiliation with the W. P. Carey School of Business.

Citrix applications have  advantages and limitations. Individuals must have access to the internet at all times to utilize any Citrix applications. Programs in Citrix are metered according to license agreement terms. If the maximum number of available program licenses has been reached, all attempts to run the program will be rejected until other users log off. Citrix applications are controlled centrally and the user environment is controlled for consistency and stability.

W. P. Carey has a Citrix server that has specialized software for W. P. Carey faculty, staff, and students. Faculty and staff use the ASURITE domain and students use the ASUAD domain to access the W. P. Carey Citrix server.
