Adobe Connect - Chat

Adobe Connect

Video broadcast requires considerable bandwidth and can cause problems with the Breeze Meeting.  It is recommended to limit the video usage to only necessary connections. Video setup in Adobe Connect requires that a camera already be installed and working on your computer.

  1. Below the video and microphone section on the right there is the chat window.  You can use this section to type messages to all the viewers and they can reply back.
    breeze15
  2. At the very bottom of the chat window there is the “To:” drop down window and you can choose to send messages to everyone or to just specific people.

List of Viewers

  1. Below the chat window is a box that contains a list of all of the people who are currently viewing this Breeze presentation.  This will ensure that you can keep track of who is in the room and who is not in the room at all times.

Sharing

  1. This section of the user manual will demonstrate how to share different portions of your computer with the viewers in the Breeze environment.  When you first load the Breeze Program this option will appear in the middle of the screen:
    breeze17
  2. Then next three sections will explain how to share your entire desktop, single documents, or a common whiteboard with all of the viewers.

My Computer Screen

  1. After clicking the “My Computer Screen...” option from the main screen this window will pop up:
    breeze18
  2. From here you have three different options.  The following sections will explain each option in detail

Desktop

  1. If you selected the desktop option from the sharing screen the main window will appear like this:
    breeze19
  2. This means that all of the viewers can see everything that you are doing on your machine no matter what application, window, or document you are using.  The viewer can click the “Request Control” button in the bottom left hand corner of their screen and you will be prompted with this window:
    breeze20
  3. If you click accept then the viewer will be able to take control of your desktop until you or they close the control connection.
  4. While in the desktop sharing mode you can see this tool bar in the bottom left hand corner of your screen:
    breeze21
  5. At all times you will be able to add more things that you wish to share, stop sharing, flip to screen modes, or view what the viewers can view using the preview screen button.

Windows

  1. If you select the Windows option from the sharing screen the window will show a list of all the windows you have open on your machine and check boxes next to all of them.
    breeze22
  2. Check the boxes of the window(s) you would like to share.  After sharing has begun, viewers can again request control but can only work within the windows that you selected to share and therefore cannot gain full control of your desktop.

Application

  1. If you select the Application option from the sharing screen the window will show a list of all the Applications you have open on your machine and check boxes next to all of them.
    breeze23
  2. Check the boxes of the application(s) you would like to share.  After sharing has begun, viewers can again request control but can only work within the entire application that you selected to share instead of just the single window.

Whiteboard

  1. From the main screen if you clicked the “Documents” button it will bring up an empty whiteboard that both you and the viewers will be able to see and change.

    breeze25

    breeze26

  2. The toolbar on the right has all the different pointers, markers, erasers, and other tools to write on the whiteboard.  The tool in the bottom left hand corner allows you to have multiple pages to your whiteboard and be able to flip between them all.
  3. Congratulations you have now completed the tutorial for the Breeze Meeting Program.  You should now understand how to correctly set up the program and utilized all of the sharing tools within the program.  If you have further questions using this software please consult the help files within the Breeze Meeting Program.  Thank You.
