About BIT
The Business Information Technology Department (BIT) provides technology services to advance the mission of the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. BIT coordinates closely with ASU's University Technology Office (UTO), which has responsibility for applications and services covering technology needs common to all Schools and units across the University and its several campuses.
BIT develops and supports technology for requirements specific to the W. P. Carey School. BIT manages networks, e-mail, servers, software distribution, classroom and lab technologies, desktop computing, and printing and provides technical support for faculty, students and staff. Additionally, BIT develops and/or supports the School's Web sites, instructional environments, and administrative systems. The BIT Strategic Oversight Committee (BITSOC) composed of faculty and senior administrators, reviews and approves technology plans, priorities and policies.
BIT staff members can be found in several locations. Classroom support technicians are located in the BA and BAC buildings, close to faculty, staff, and students. Most desktop support technicians are close by in Computer Commons 235, or may be located in departments in the BA and BAC buildings. The main offices for BIT and most of the staff are located in Suite 401 of the Centerpoint building on 6th Street just west of Mill Avenue in Tempe
