Undergraduate Program FAQ
How does the Supply Chain Management program compare with other institutions' programs?
The top- ranked Supply Chain Management program at Arizona State University has long been recognized as one of the finest programs in the country and the world. The program provides students with hands-on exposure to real-world business processes and strategies. The program is technology rich using the most up-to-date e-business software, including SAP, and emphasizes team projects within the curriculum.
What are my chances of being admitted if I am not a direct admit?
Applicants that do not meet the direct-admit criteria are reviewed using a portfolio approach. Among the factors considered are: cumulative GPA, skill course GPA and transfer GPA. Of these factors, we view skill course GPA as one of the highest predictors of success for the program and prefer candidates with a skill GPA greater than 3.0. We also factor in work experience, community involvement, leadership skills and responses to questions within the portfolio application.
How often should I see an advisor?
We strongly recommend that our students check in with their academic advisor once each semester. This will ensure that you are aware of your requirements for graduation and that there are no surprises at the end.
What is the W.P. Carey Career Center?
The W. P. Carey Business Career Center offers numerous services to assist students with their career searches. The SCM department has a dedicated coordinator who can help you navigate through the process. To schedule an appointment, call the career center or stop by to arrange a time that matches your schedule.
The course that I need is full. Are there any ways to get a seat?
The SCM department may have a small number of reserved seats within each section for students who are unable to register for other open sections of a course and need the course to graduate on time. These seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis for emergency only cases. If you find yourself in this situation, please complete a capacity override request form through S.O.S. to request a capacity override.
I do not have the prerequisites for a course. Can I take it anyway?
The SCM department will not waive prerequisites unless it can be demonstrated that equivalent or mostly equivalent prerequisite coursework has been completed elsewhere at an accredited university.
Are there any study abroad opportunities?
Students have many opportunities to study abroad and still stay on track for graduation. You can access a list of schools online that offer courses equivalent to ours. We are constantly updating this list, so if you find a course at another university that you feel is equivalent, let us know.
