Welcome

Welcome to the Web site for the W. P. Carey School of Business Master of Public Health (MPH) in urban population health—a program committed to developing the next generation of leaders to assure that urban America receives the best possible health care.  By positioning the MPH in the W. P. Carey School of Business, and through collaboration with the ASU College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI), graduates will have the competencies and capabilities to design, develop, and evaluate sustainable public health programs.  Our graduates will be valued for their ability to strategically position their organizations and programs to provide efficient and effective services.

ASU’s MPH program is characterized by collaboration, innovation, and integration.

  • In addition to our colleagues in CONHI, we collaborate with an Organization of Community Partners, which facilitates learning opportunities for MPH students in real-world settings with diverse urban populations.
  • We have designed an innovative program that capitalizes on the strengths of the participating schools, namely the business skills to envision and manage change, and the public health skills to engage and empower communities.
  • Finally, the program capitalizes on our belief that an MPH should include mental health issues, which are a part of public health and have been neglected in other programs.  We approach public health from a viewpoint that integrates the physical and mental health issues challenging urban areas today.

We hope that as you browse our Web site you will become as excited about this new program as we are.
