This year CABIT initiated a series of monthly meetings, its Showcase Series, to help industry leaders work together to explore emerging issues in IT. For this series to be successful, the CABIT participants identify an issue they would like to study. CABIT then identifies industry and academic thought leaders, and brings them to campus to initiate a conversation with the members. The power of the sessions comes from the interactive discussions between IT professionals, solutions providers and leading academics.
This year the focus of the series has been on the business implications of Web 2.0. The first meeting defined the scope of Web 2.0, while subsequent meetings have explored the business value opportunities from different aspects of Web 2.0, the technical issues around data and application convergence, and the governance and security challenges from all of these initiatives.
These sessions are held monthly on ASU's campus. We welcome all industry leaders interested in joining in the discussion to contact us and come to the next session!
